Excellent cafe just inside the walls. Staff very polite and professional. Just a coffee stop but it was best we’ve had in while. Would like to try for breakfast and other treats.
Had a breakfast here this morning as recent reviews were good. So glad we did, the food and service were excellent (Hot smoked salmon from the specials board and eggs benedict). Portions are more than ample. Will be back and would definitely recommend

Popped in as was meeting someone. Lovely atmosphere, cozy, I had a decaf latte with oat milk and a bakewell slice. Latte was perfect, and the slice delicious, and large , definitely value for money and would definitely return. Also loved the water on the table is in and old milk bottle

Ate here for breakfast 3 days in a row while in York. Great location, friendly staff, and fantastic breakfast. The desserts looked amazing as well. Definitely make this your go-to breakfast spot while in the city!
Came to Wheldrakes for our breakfast twice during our weekend away to York. The building is absolutely lovely and spotless. The staff are so nice and friendly, and you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. We had the full English, and the portion sizes were brilliant and absolutely delicious. Everything is sustainable and free range. I will absolutely visit again!
On Goodramgate near Monk Bar. Very compact but fabulous place. Amazing cakes! Spoiled for choice! And great coffee. Staff are really friendly. I thought the tall young girl must know everybody and that they were locals but no! She is just super friendly! One flat white, one latte and two generous pie es of coffee cake, beautifully presented, came to 17. Can't complain at that! Check website for opening days. Doesn't open every day. Yes I would recommend it. Yes I would go again.
